What you’ll do
As Project Manager – Industrial Steel Preservation, you are the key link between production, planning, and the customer. You maintain a helicopter view while staying closely involved in daily operations and execution.
You will:
- Take full ownership of industrial corrosion protection projects, from kick-off to handover.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams (blasters, painters/coaters, maintenance, logistics, warehouse).
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients and regularly visit project locations.
- Monitor and enforce HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards.
- Translate work orders, drawings, planning data, and specifications into clear execution plans.
- Plan, allocate, and control daily activities together with team leaders.
- Take responsibility for production halls, tools, installations, and equipment.
- Identify bottlenecks, handle complaints decisively, and implement practical solutions.
- Drive process improvements and optimize production costs.
- Ensure accurate administration, reporting, and invoicing towards management.
Requirements
- Bachelor-level thinking and working ability (HBO), preferably in a technical field
(e.g. mechanical engineering, technical operations, industrial or steel-related) - Proven leadership experience in a production-driven, industrial environment, preferably within:
-Shipbuilding or ship repair
-Maritime or offshore industry
-Heavy industry or steel construction
-Industrial coating, blasting, or corrosion protection
- Experience managing multidisciplinary shop-floor teams in dynamic, time-critical environments.
- Knowledge of coating inspection standards (NACE and/or FROSIO) is a strong plus.
- VOL-VCA certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Excellent command of Dutch and English.
