We are hiring for a Boutique, high-level Python consultancy in the Netherlands.
This is not a volume consultancy.
This is not a “full-stack with some Python” role.
This is backend engineering, done properly.
The team is deliberately small. Senior. Opinionated.
People-first. Flat. No corporate layers.
You don’t join to execute tickets.
You join to shape architecture, influence direction, and help build a company around Python craftsmanship.
You’ll likely fit if:
You won’t enjoy this if:
You’ll work on assignments where Python is truly central — always. This means designing scalable APIs, building robust backend systems, and developing cloud-native architectures that are meant to last. You translate business objectives into thoughtful technical solutions and take ownership beyond just implementation. Improving existing codebases is just as important as building new functionality; you focus on maintainability, performance, and long-term architectural quality rather than simply extending features.
Internally, you actively contribute to the engineering culture by joining technical sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives. You participate in meetups, hackathons, and conferences, help define internal standards, and play a role in shaping the long-term technical direction of the organization.
Requirements
We are looking for backend specialists with strong, production-level Python experience. You have at least 5 years of professional experience building and maintaining backend systems, and you understand what it means to run software in real environments — not just in development.
You have worked extensively with frameworks such as Django or Flask and are comfortable designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices. Testing is part of how you work (TDD or a strong testing mindset), and you are familiar with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization with Docker (Kubernetes is a plus).
You understand databases — relational and/or NoSQL — and have experience working in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. You are able to operate independently, think in architecture rather than just features, and communicate comfortably in Dutch.
Nice to have is experience with Domain Driven Design, serverless architectures, and working within Agile or DevOps-driven teams.
Benefits
Small team. High standards. No politics.
Process
It starts with a personal screening call with one of our recruiters to explore your experience, ambitions, and overall fit for the role. This conversation is equally an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine whether this environment truly aligns with what you are looking for.
If there is mutual interest, you will be invited for an interview at the company, where both cultural alignment and technical depth are discussed.
There is no technical assessment or take-home assignment involved — the focus is on meaningful conversations and real engineering dialogue.
Full company details are shared during the first introduction call.
