Salary: $4,750/month
Cooper for North Carolina (CFNC) is looking to hire a full-time Research Assistant to join our growing Research team based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Research Assistant will support the Research department’s tracking, media monitoring, and opposition research programs. The ideal candidate is a fast learner, detail-oriented, and hard-working.
Qualifications
Internship experience in a political, communications, or research setting preferredPrevious campaign or political opposition research experience a plusExceptional written and verbal communication skillsExceptional critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and organizational skillsDiscretion and sound judgement when dealing with sensitive informationAbility to meet tight deadlines under pressureExperience with Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to keep up with the news cycle
Responsibilities
Monitor TV, radio, social media, and other digital platforms for campaign activity Vetting of individuals and entities affiliated with the campaignAssist with compiling and maintaining records of ads and clipsAssist with A/V research as neededCatalogue and transcribe media appearances as neededConduct background research of issue areas and candidates as neededConduct on-location research as necessaryAll other duties as assigned
Compensation & Hours
Salary: $4,750 per monthHealthcare premium covered by campaign. This is an at-will position expected to end after the 2026 election. Applicants should be committed to work for the entire election cycle.Hours: Full-time position. This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and point in the cycle and is likely to require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle.
