We are seeking a curious, driven, and technically strong Research Engineer to support data preparation, experimentation, and model development across Pindrop’s audio and voice research initiatives. In this role, you will design and maintain datasets, build tooling for data augmentation and visualization, run experimental studies, and collaborate closely with researchers and engineers to advance model quality and performance.

Design, curate, and maintain datasets used for ML model training, including data collection, augmentation, organization, and storage.
Develop and maintain tools and pipelines for data collection, augmentation, analysis, and visualization.
Contribute to research packages used for training, evaluating, and validating machine learning models.
Conduct experimental studies across a variety of audio-processing tasks to assess accuracy, robustness, and model quality.
Participate actively in the research team’s activities, including recurring research reviews, experimental discussions, and code reviews.
Collaborate closely with researchers and engineering teams to integrate findings and improve research workflows.
A creative problem solver passionate about building impactful products grounded in research.

Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Mathematics, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of professional experience as a research engineer or data engineering experience.
Familiar with preparing datasets for ML training and evaluation.
Experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
Experience working with audio or visual data and data collection workflows.
Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or React JS.
Knowledge of biometrics, authentication, fraud detection, or customer experience systems.
Experience communicating with internal/external customers about proof-of-concepts or technical findings.
