Solvd is hiring a Retail Personalization Lead Strategist to lead strategy and discovery for an Always-On Targeted Offer Engine initiative. This project will enable personalized, eligibility-driven incentives across digital touchpoints by leveraging existing personalization platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization (Interaction Studio) and Adobe Target.
You will help the client shift from campaign-based promotions to continuous, behavior-led engagement using real-time customer signals like browsing behavior, product affinity, visit frequency, and purchase intent. This is a highly client-facing role with clear discovery deliverables and tight milestones.
Serve as the day-to-day strategic point of contact for the client’s Personalization Lead throughout the engagement
Lead weekly status calls and milestone reviews; prepare stakeholder-ready materials for phase sign-offs
Facilitate discovery workshops (Weeks 1–2) to capture business rules, constraints, approval workflows, and commercial objectives across Personalization, CDP, Marketing Ops, and Mobile App teams
Frame offer strategy within the client’s premiumization journey so use cases move customers toward fuller-price behavior rather than reinforcing discount dependency
Define and document the Offer Taxonomy, including:
offer type, channel applicability, customer segment
discount value ranges, trigger events, expiry logic
stacking rules and priority tier hierarchy
Build the Offer Governance Framework (versioned, living documentation) as the single source of truth for how offers are created, approved, distributed, and retired
Define offer conflict logic for scenarios where customers qualify for multiple active offers simultaneously
Establish suppression rules, including frequency caps, post-purchase suppression windows, and channel suppression logic
Audit current promotions across email, web, and app to identify cannibalization risks and commercial conflicts before build begins

Translate strategy into structured, execution-ready briefs for the MCP Architect, SFMC Engineer, and Adobe Target Specialist
Author the end-of-engagement Scale Recommendation document with evidence-backed go/no-go guidance for each offer use case
Advise on loyalty integration, clarifying where loyalty sweeteners complement targeted offers vs. where they create conflicting incentive structures
Commercially-minded: you connect personalization decisions to a clear revenue and margin thesis
Precise communicator: you produce structured, unambiguous documentation that downstream teams can implement without guesswork
Comfortable across audiences: you can lead a workshop with senior marketing leadership and also align in detail with engineers in Confluence/Notion
Confident, constructive challenger: you push back when instincts conflict with data, without losing stakeholder trust
Strong point of view on personalization: you can clearly articulate the difference between targeting and relevance
5+ years in personalization, CRM strategy, or digital marketing strategy (retail/e-commerce strongly preferred)
Proven experience designing enterprise-level offer or promotional governance frameworks
Hands-on experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and translating outputs into actionable strategic documentation
Strong understanding of customer lifecycle stages and behavioral trigger logic
Experience partnering with MarTech/engineering teams and writing briefs that architects and engineers can execute against
Working knowledge of A/B testing, experimentation design, and incrementality measurement principles
Comfortable in a fast-paced, client-facing consulting environment with hard deliverable deadlines
Direct experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization (Interaction Studio)
Familiarity with Adobe Target or similar experimentation platforms
Background in premiumization or brand repositioning programs
Experience with loyalty strategy, offer mechanics, and incentive structures
Retail sector experience (apparel, footwear, or sporting goods preferred)
Exposure to CDP architecture and how segment data flows into activation systems
