This position reports to the VP Finance (Deputy CFO) based in Singapore and works in close collaboration with the Japan Country Manager. The role is responsible for overseeing all finance, accounting, and bookkeeping functions in Japan, as well as some administrative tasks. We are seeking a candidate who can serve as a core member of our JP office operations and contribute significantly to the company's growth in Japan.

The role will manage end-to-end Order to Cash (from order receipt to cash collection) and Procure to Pay (from procurement to payment) processes for the Japan entity, ensuring accurate, timely payments to both vendors and employees. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate payments to both vendors and employees. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting local HR and compliance-related activities, and ensuring smooth day-to-day financial operations.

In addition, this role will work closely with the Singapore-based Group Finance team to ensure alignment with global accounting policies, group reporting under IFRS, and internal control processes.

Key Responsibilities

Finance, Accounting, and Operational Reporting

• Manage end-to-end accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), and month-end closing
• Operate and manage Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accounting records
• Process invoices and manage payments
• Execute monthly and annual closing activities and prepare related financial reports to Group Finance (Singapore)
• Manage expense reimbursements and fixed asset accounting
• Handle tax filings, statutory reporting, and internal and external audit support

Processes and Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with Japanese GAAP, tax regulations, and IFRS
• Strengthen financial processes and internal control frameworks
• Support the implementation of accounting systems and ERP solutions and drive operational efficiency improvements

Cross-Functional Responsibilities

• Support budgeting, cost control, and performance management activities working closely with Japan Managing Director
• Provide financial and administrative support to customers orders, and vendors management, and operational requests
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations

Administrative Responsibilities

• Manage office administration and office supplies
• Support payroll operations in coordination with HR
• Coordinate with external vendors, legal counsel, and HR
• Manage contracts and related documentation (legal review handled by external counsel)

Other Responsibilities

• Drive process improvements and support new initiatives in a growth-stage environment
• Support internal and external audits, compliance reviews, and special projects when required

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA/簿記2級 or higher certification preferred.
• 5-8 years of hands-on accounting or finance experience, preferably in manufacturing, robotics, or engineering sectors.
• Proficient in Japanese GAAP, tax, and payroll processes; experience with IFRS reporting is a plus.
• Skilled in Excel and accounting systems (e.g., Xero, NetSuite, Business Central, or local ERP tools).
• Fluent in Japanese and conversational English to liaise with regional teams.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, growing environment.

• 経費精算、固定資産管理
• 税務申告、法定対応、監査対応

• 財務プロセスおよび内部統制の強化
• 会計システム、ERP導入および業務効率化

クロスファンクショナル業務

• 予算策定、コスト管理、業績管理
• 顧客・ベンダー対応の財務サポート
• インターカンパニー取引管理

アドミ業務

• 備品管理・オフィス管理
• HRと連携し、給与計算のオペレーションサポート
• 外部ベンダー、法務、HRとの連携
• 契約書管理（法務判断は外部）

応募要件

• 会計、財務関連分野の学位、CPA/簿記２級取得またはそれ以上の資格取得
• 5〜8年の会計・財務実務経験
• 日本会計基準、税務、給与計算の知識
• Excelおよび会計システムの使用経験
• 日本語ネイティブレベル、英語での業務対応力
• 自律的に業務を推進できる方
