About The Role
At KOHO, the Payment Operations team owns the "operating system" for money movement. We don’t just keep the lights on; we design the engine that powers every transaction. We are a high-ambiguity, high-ownership team that bridges the gap between technical engineering and business strategy.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will blend the problem-solving toolkit of a Strategy Consultant with the technical depth of a Payments expert. You will report to the Senior Manager of Payments Strategy & Operations and act as a key architect for our scalability—designing complex fund flows, automating manual reconciliation, and driving cross-functional projects from ideation to delivery. You won’t just report on what happened; you will build the models and workflows that determine what happens next.
What You’ll Do
Solve ambiguous, multi-system problems: You will dive deep into our payments stack (ledger, processor APIs, admin tools) to diagnose root causes of complex issues (e.g., balance mismatches, settlement failures) and design permanent technical solutions.
Drive step-changes in operational performance: You will map out complex manual workflows (like financial reconciliation or fraud investigation), identify inefficiencies, and partner with Engineering to build tools that automate them.
Design the future of KOHO payments: You will act as a core stakeholder in new product launches, leveraging your deep understanding of payment rails (EFT, Interac, Visa/Mastercard) to design "happy path" fund flows and robust exception handling processes.
Make big decisions with data: You will build your own dashboards, write your own SQL, and model business cases to justify resourcing for new initiatives (e.g., changing vendors, building new internal tools).
Own end-to-end delivery: You will manage large, cross-functional projects. You aren't just a participant; you own the roadmap, manage dependencies with Product and Finance, and ensure we ship on time.
Who You Are
You bring 3+ years of experience working in fast-paced, data-driven, high-performance environments, including at least 1 year of hands-on payments experience.
A "Technical" Business Operator: You are comfortable digging into API documentation, reading system logs, and looking at architecture diagrams to understand how things work and how to improve them. You can translate between developers and business stakeholders, tying everything back to quantifiable business metrics and enabling structured trade-off decisions.
Data-Driven Problem Solver: Excel is your backyard, but you are also proficient with SQL. You don’t wait for a data analyst to pull numbers for you; you pull your own data to prove your hypothesis and let the facts win arguments.
Ambitious & High-Ownership: You thrive in ambiguity. When you see a fire, you don't just report it; you put it out and build a fire-suppression system so it never happens again. You take accountability for outcomes, not just tasks.
Process Architect: You have a natural obsession with efficiency. You hate manual toil and constantly look for ways to script, automate, or process-engineer your way out of repetitive work.
Excellent Communicator: You can synthesize complex technical topics (like ISO 20022 messaging or ledgering logic) into clear summaries for non-technical stakeholders in Finance and Risk.

En tant que Senior Business Analyst, vous combinerez la boîte à outils de résolution de problèmes d’un consultant en stratégie avec la profondeur technique d’un expert des paiements. Vous relèverez du Senior Manager, Payments Strategy & Operations et agirez comme un architecte clé de notre scalabilité — en concevant des flux de fonds complexes, en automatisant la réconciliation manuelle et en pilotant des projets transverses de l’idéation à la livraison. Ce que vous ferez
Résoudre des problèmes ambigus et multi-systèmes : Vous plongerez au cœur de notre stack de paiements (grand livre, API des processeurs, outils admin) pour diagnostiquer les causes profondes de problèmes complexes (ex. : écarts de solde, échecs de règlement) et concevoir des solutions techniques durables.
Améliorer radicalement la performance opérationnelle : Vous cartographierez des workflows manuels complexes (comme la réconciliation financière ou les enquêtes fraude), identifierez les inefficacités et collaborerez avec l’ingénierie pour créer des outils permettant de les automatiser.
Concevoir l’avenir des paiements chez KOHO : Vous serez un acteur clé des lancements de nouveaux produits, en utilisant votre compréhension approfondie des rails de paiement (TEF/EFT, Interac, Visa/Mastercard) pour concevoir des flux « happy path » et des processus robustes de gestion des exceptions.
Prendre de grandes décisions grâce aux données : Vous créerez vos propres tableaux de bord, écrirez vos propres requêtes SQL et modéliserez des business cases pour justifier l’allocation de ressources à de nouvelles initiatives (ex. : changement de fournisseurs, création d’outils internes).
Piloter la livraison de bout en bout : Vous gérerez des projets transverses d’envergure. Vous ne serez pas seulement participant ; vous serez responsable de la feuille de route, de la gestion des dépendances avec Product et Finance, et du respect des délais de livraison.
Votre profil
Vous possédez plus de 3 ans d’expérience dans des environnements rapides, orientés données et à forte performance, dont au moins 1 an d’expérience pratique dans les paiements.
Un opérateur business « technique » : Vous êtes à l’aise pour analyser la documentation d’API, lire des logs système et consulter des schémas d’architecture afin de comprendre comment les systèmes fonctionnent et comment les améliorer. Vous savez faire le lien entre développeurs et parties prenantes métiers, en reliant tout à des métriques business mesurables et en facilitant des décisions structurées de compromis.
Résolveur de problèmes orienté données : Excel est votre terrain de jeu, et vous maîtrisez aussi SQL. Vous n’attendez pas qu’un analyste vous fournisse les données ; vous les extrayez vous-même pour valider vos hypothèses et laisser les faits trancher.
Ambitieux et doté d’un fort sens des responsabilités : Vous évoluez bien dans l’ambiguïté. Quand vous voyez un incendie, vous ne vous contentez pas de le signaler ; vous l’éteignez et construisez un système pour qu’il ne se reproduise plus. Vous assumez la responsabilité des résultats, pas seulement des tâches.
Architecte de processus : Vous avez une obsession naturelle pour l’efficacité. Vous détestez le travail manuel répétitif et cherchez constamment à automatiser, scripter ou repenser les processus pour l’éliminer.
Excellent communicant : Vous savez synthétiser des sujets techniques complexes (comme la messagerie ISO 20022 ou la logique de tenue de livre) en résumés clairs pour des parties prenantes non techniques en Finance et Risk.
