Senior Software Engineer / Tech Lead, Finmo
Finmo is building the infrastructure that powers modern global treasury operations. Our platform enables businesses to manage cross-border payments, liquidity, FX, and financial workflows across multiple geographies.
We are looking for strong engineers to help build the core systems behind Finmo’s treasury and payments platform. Depending on experience and interview performance, candidates may be hired as Senior Software Engineer (SDE-3) or Tech Lead.
What You’ll Work On
Build scalable backend systems powering Finmo’s payments and treasury platform
Design APIs and services supporting global financial transactions
Develop integrations with banks and payment networks
Build systems for transaction processing, reconciliation, and financial workflows
Debug complex production issues and improve system reliability
Contribute to system architecture and engineering best practices
Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through code reviews and design discussions
Lead or manage engineering efforts for specific projects and features
Engineers at Finmo own systems end-to-end, from development to production.
Engineering Environment
At Finmo, we are technology and language agnostic and focus on hiring strong engineers who can solve complex problems rather than limiting ourselves to specific frameworks. Our current stack primarily includes AWS for infrastructure, JavaScript and TypeScript across backend and frontend services, ReactJS for product interfaces, and Python for automation, data processing, and AI-related workflows. Engineers are encouraged to adopt technologies that improve reliability, performance, and developer productivity.
AI and Automation
Finmo is actively developing MO AI, our AI-driven intelligence layer focused on automating treasury insights and financial workflows. Engineers contribute to applying AI across areas such as treasury analytics, payment routing optimization, reconciliation automation, and workflow automation to improve how businesses manage their global treasury operations.
Qualifications
What We Look For
Strong backend or distributed systems experience
Solid understanding of scalable system design
Experience building reliable production systems
Strong debugging and problem-solving ability
Ownership mindset and ability to drive technical solutions
Experience in payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure is a plus.
