As the Senior Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering innovative electronic toy products from early concept through mass production. This role partners closely with Industrial Design, Project Management, Firmware/Software, Packaging, and global manufacturing vendors to bring engaging, safe, and high-quality electronic toys to market across Mattel’s iconic brands.

What Your Impact Will Be:
- Design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot analog and digital electronic circuits for consumer electronic toy products
- Own electronic development from concept ideation through development, validation, and production release
- Define system architecture across hardware, firmware, and software components
- Develop and debug embedded systems software using both low-level (assembly) and higher-level programming languages
- Build functional prototypes based on input from designers and non-technical partners
- Support development debug, software testing, and product transfers to manufacturing
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Project Management, Packaging, and other engineering teams
- Lead multiple development projects simultaneously while meeting cost, quality, and schedule targets
- Provide vendor and subcontractor evaluation, technical oversight, and co-development support
- Support production startup, corrective action implementation, and ongoing product or process improvements
- Contribute technical input to brainstorming and concept development sessions
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- This role will require extensive in-country travel

- Strong experience with analog and digital circuit design
- Solid understanding of embedded systems and microcontrollers (e.g., ARM, Arduino, Raspberry Pi or similar)
- Proficiency in embedded software development using assembly and higher-level programming languages
- Experience taking products from concept through development and into production within the consumer electronics industry
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while being a strong team player
- Effective communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
Nice to Haves:
- Experience in the toy industry or highly regulated consumer products
- Familiarity with smaller embedded systems (e.g., Nyquest, Generalplus, Nuvoton, Sonix)
- Experience with electromechanical, mechatronic, or animatronic systems
- Exposure to audio engineering, RF engineering, communications, or signal processing
- Experience with TFT/OLED displays, MEMS sensors, microphones, and wireless ICs (Bluetooth, WiFi, 2.4G)
