WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Strategic Communications Executive supports the company’s external communications, media relations, and corporate narrative development.
This role is execution-heavy and ownership-driven. You will be responsible for independently driving day-to-day communications work, including press materials, media engagement, content development, and media monitoring, allowing senior leadership to focus on strategic, regulatory, and regional priorities.
This role requires strong judgment, structure, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision.
Your responsibilities include:
Narrative Development & Corporate Messaging
- Translate strategic direction, business outcomes, and data into clear, compelling narratives across press materials, LinkedIn, impact reports, and award submissions.
- Craft and refine corporate messaging to ensure consistency across all external communications.
- Lead the development of award submissions, including identifying strong angles, structuring narratives, and articulating impact and differentiation.
- Ensure all narratives are accurate, substantiated, and aligned with the company’s positioning and long-term strategy.
- Proactively flag reputational risks, sensitivities, or misalignments in communications materials.
Media Relations & Press Materials
- Own the first cut and development of press releases, media statements, talking points, and pitches, with minimal supervision.
- Liaise directly with journalists and media outlets for story pitching, follow-ups, clarifications, and relationship management.
- Support media enquiries, ensuring accuracy and message consistency.
- Owned Channels & Content Management
- Manage the company’s LinkedIn and online presence, including content planning, copywriting, and post sequencing aligned with corporate narratives.
- Develop and adapt content for different audiences while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
- Track content performance and refine approaches based on engagement and relevance.
Impact Reports & Strategic Storytelling
- Coordinate with internal teams across departments to gather data, insights, and inputs for impact and stakeholder reports.
- Own the drafting and structuring of written impact reports, translating quantitative and qualitative inputs into coherent, audience-appropriate narratives.
- Ensure clarity, accuracy, and narrative flow in long-form reports, balancing storytelling with credibility and data integrity.
- Support periodic reporting requirements for stakeholders where communications input is required.
Media Monitoring & Reporting
- Conduct daily media monitoring and track relevant coverage, competitor activity, and industry developments.
- Prepare regular media monitoring reports and summaries for internal stakeholders.
- Support administrative communications tasks, including documentation, tracking, and coordination.
Cross-Functional Support
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to gather inputs and ensure communications outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned.
- Support ad-hoc communications projects as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in strategic communications, public relations, journalism, or corporate communications.
- Proactively anticipate communications needs, potential risks, and upcoming deliverables, and surface recommendations early rather than waiting for direction.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, structured, and compelling narratives.
- Experience liaising directly with media and journalists.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage both strategic outputs and administrative tasks.
- Good judgment and sensitivity when handling reputational or media-related matters.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- High level of independence and ownership — able to take work from brief to near-final with minimal guidance.
- Self-starter with integrity, accountability, and pride in quality of work.
