About Sent
Sent is an infrastructure for sending A2P messages across SMS, WhatsApp, and RCS through a single unified API. Our intelligent routing model automates channel selection based on deliverability and cost, ensuring lower cost and global reach without any channel-specific integrations.
We recently closed a $5.1M Seed round backed by Companyon Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, UIF, and CEAS Investments. We're hiring to build the best infrastructure to replace multi-channel messaging stacks.
About the Role
We're looking for a Strategic Finance Associate to own financial modeling, burn management, pricing strategy and investor reporting. You'll build the financial infrastructure that carries us from through Series A and beyond: the models, the reporting cadence, the unit economics framework, and the analytical rigor that lets leadership move fast with confidence.
This role is ideal for someone 1–3 years out of an investment banking, consulting, PE/VC, or FP&A analyst seat who wants to move operator-side at a high-growth startup. You should be the person who finds genuine satisfaction in a well-structured model and gets excited about connecting financial data to business strategy.
What You'll Do
Build and maintain Sent's financial model: revenue forecasting (usage-based), expense planning, cash flow projections, and scenario analysis
Own monthly financial reporting and variance analysis - actuals vs. plan, with clear narratives on what's driving the numbers
Develop unit economics and margin analysis by product line (channels: SMS, WhatsApp, RCS), customer segment, and geography
Support fundraising prep: investor decks, data room materials, KPI dashboards, and responses to due diligence requests
Model pricing and packaging scenarios - Sent has usage-based revenue with carrier cost pass-throughs, so margin analysis gets interesting fast
Track burn rate and runway, and flag risks or opportunities to leadership proactively
Partner with the Head of GTM on quota modeling, commission structures, and sales capacity planning
Analyze vendor spend, headcount costs, and infrastructure expenses to support budgeting decisions
Build the reporting cadence and templates that will scale as the company grows: board decks, monthly business reviews, department-level P&Ls
What We're Looking For
1–3 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, venture capital, private equity, corporate finance, or FP&A, and ideally startup experience outside of institutional finance
Exceptional financial modeling skills - you can build a three-statement model from scratch, and your spreadsheets are clean enough that someone else can audit them
Strong grasp of SaaS and/or usage-based business metrics: ARR, NDR, gross margin, CAC, LTV, payback period
Comfort working with messy or incomplete data: you can make directionally correct decisions without perfect information
Clear communication: you can explain a financial concept to a non-finance audience and write a board memo that's concise and actionable
Intellectual curiosity about the business, not just the numbers: you want to understand why carrier costs vary by country, not just that they do
High ownership and self-direction: you'll be the only finance person, so you need to be comfortable setting your own priorities
Nice to Have
Experience with usage-based or consumption pricing models
Exposure to 409A valuations, cap table management, or equity administration
Proficiency with accounting/finance tools
Prior experience at a startup
Our Commitment to You
Meaningful equity with high growth potential
Top-tier medical, dental, vision fully covered
401(k) with 100% match up to 4%
Unlimited PTO
Beautiful NYC workspace with daily meals and unlimited snacks
New MacBook Pro + Apple Studio Display
Fully comped Wellhub Gold or Equinox membership
