Role Overview
The VP of Technology will play a key role in strengthening and scaling Atlas’ technology platform while contributing to longer-term strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building structure where it doesn’t yet exist, and can anticipate the future needs, key vendors, and expertise needed to deploy Atlas’ long term technology strategy. In this role, you will partner closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to oversee the everyday operational needs of Atlas’ technology stack, understand user needs to develop a technology roadmap for Atlas, and evangelize the Atlas technology vision to future partners.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Analysis
Analyze customer needs and technology trends in order to build a long-term technology roadmap for Atlas
Apply the Atlas core competencies and core strategy to inform build versus buy technology decisions
Understand the landscape of technology vendors and partners in order to inform Atlas’ decisions
Stay abreast of trends in AI that are relevant to the Atlas business models and identify opportunities to use/deploy AI as a strategic advantage
Daily Technology Operations
Manage the Director of IT and Information Security and support them in everyday evaluation and deployment of technology
Work as an individual contributor when needed, in particular in the data and data operations domain
Manage the everyday flow of technology challenges and opportunities (IT outages, vendor issues, security threats, SLA downtime) alongside the Director of IT and Information Security
Data Strategy
Understand the relevant data feeds and data inputs needed to inform an intelligent value-based-care operation
Code and deploy data pipelines (ETL, ELT, etc.) when needed
Work as an interim database administrator as needed
Architect a long term data warehouse and reporting infrastructure to support corporate outcome measures and continual improvement
Technology Evangelist
Co-Develop and sell the long-term technology vision to internal stakeholders (i.e., board, corporate leadership, sales team)
Work smoothly with high-profile clinical partners to sell the Atlas technology vision and manage any concerns / technical issues originating from partners
Reporting: This role will report to the President
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
5-10 years of experience in healthcare IT, Data, and/or Product leadership
Basic competency as both a data engineer and data warehouse administrator with a history of prior healthcare deployments
Experience with product strategy, build versus buy, and user needs research
Prior expertise managing and contracting key technology vendors
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
Proficient in performing data analyses in Excel, summarizing executive-friendly output in PowerPoint, including performance dashboards
Ability to think critically, problem-solve, and translate ideas into action
Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a high growth startup
Experience in outpatient value-based primary care or other specialty value-based care
Familiar with emerging technologies such as Claude Code
