Our client, a leading company in the FMCG sector is looking for a Category Development Manager - Personal & Home Care
Job Purpose:
Drive the long-term growth of assigned product categories in Personal & Home Care, including detergents, by leveraging deep consumer understanding, market intelligence, and cross-functional collaboration. Provide strategic leadership in category development, innovation, and brand building to accelerate market share, revenue growth, and competitive advantage for our FMCG portfolio.
Key Responsibilities (Summary):
- Develop and execute category strategies based on consumer insights, market trends, and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and optimize the product portfolio.
- Lead new product development initiatives and manage the lifecycle of existing products to maximize profitability and market impact.
- Translate market and consumer insights into actionable plans that drive brand performance, loyalty, and differentiation.
- Collaborate closely with Commercial, Supply Chain, and other internal teams to ensure cohesive execution of category strategies, trade programs, and promotional initiatives.
- Oversee category marketing plans, brand campaigns, and integrated communication strategies to strengthen brand visibility and engagement.
- Monitor category performance through KPIs and analytics, providing data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Represent the company externally at industry events and stay informed of global FMCG trends and best practices.
Requirements
Key Competencies:
- Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen in FMCG, preferably in Personal & Home Care categories.
- Deep understanding of consumer behavior, category dynamics, and market trends.
- Analytical and data-driven decision-making with proficiency in market/retail data interpretation.
- Innovation mindset with experience in product development and portfolio management.
- Excellent collaboration and influence skills to work across functions and with external partners.
- Strong project management, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Results-oriented with a focus on driving growth, ROI, and brand equity.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum of 5years of experience in FMCG marketing or category management, ideally within Personal & Home Care (detergents or household products).
- Proven track record in category development, brand building, and new product launches.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and budgets effectively.
- Familiarity with shopper insights, retail execution, and commercial strategy is a plus.
