Civil Supervisor (UAE National)
General Characteristics (Job Summary)
- Supervise, manage and support subcontractor to proceed with construction effectively in accordance with project specification under safe condition.
- Oversee construction operations on a day to day basis.
- Study the drawings and execute the work by managing the labour material and machinery as per daily planning.
- Prepare letters and technical documents concerning the project (e.g. technical reports, project schedules, cost estimate, bill of materials, etc.).
- Review and give advice on the technical documents submitted by Subcontractors like bar bending schedules, shop drawings and material approval request documents.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor progress, oversee the delivery of materials and carry out safety checks and supervising the labours at every stage of the construction.
- Coordinate with other disciplines or departments to resolve interface issues and support the Subcontractor every time and coordinate any CONCERN to other Discipline.
- Communicate with client for solve issue with drawing or any document.
- Review the work of sub contractor's surveyors to ensure that surveying principles are correctly applied, calculation are accurate, and work is compliant to the engineering standards.
- Study and review the drawings and specifications (sketch-approval of details-plans).
- Detect any design errors, and where possible rectify the same or request the site Engineer to make the necessary change.
- Check that construction works are in accordance with project specifications and related standards, and comply with the quality control plan.
- Plan and schedule the work and efficiently organizes the site/facilities in order to meet an agreed deadlines.
- Follow-up with subcontractors for timely completion of works but at the same time ensuring the works are carried out as per the project specifications and contracts.
- Review and approve bar bending schedules submitted by subcontractors.
- Prepare cost and quantity estimates (BOQ), work schedules, correspondence to Clients and subcontractors, and technical submittals like shop drawing approval request and material approval request.
- Supervise and ensure construction quality in accordance with project specification and ITP (Inspection and Test Plan).
- Supervise and operate daily civil activities to comply with the permit to work PTW requirements.
- Prepare construction M/S (Method Statement) based on specification and requirements.
- Record B/P (Best Practice) and L/L (Lessons Learned).
- Coordinate with other disciplines or departments to resolve interface issues.
- Ensure necessary construction drawings and materials in advance of construction implementation.
- Manage construction progress by checking daily, weekly and monthly work done quantities.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly construction report.
- Generate civil engineering queries from the company as well as technical information requests.
- Supervise and ensure safe condition at construction site in cooperation with safety department.
- Prepare JSA or Equivalent Documents based on specification and requirements.
Qualifications
Experience
- Construction experience in an oil/gas/petrochemical or power plants as supervisor.
- Engineering and Construction Company working experience in Middle East is preferred.
Knowledge
- Comprehensive knowledge on construction management and engineering standards.
- Computer application ability (MS Office)
- Knowledge of building structures such as Substation, Instrument Shelter, Workshop, Laboratory, Operator Shelter, Jetty Control Building, Central Control Building.
- Knowledge of specialty Works such as Tile work, Painting work, Waterproofing work, Partition work, Suspended Ceiling work, Raised Access Floor work, Glass Door and Window, Blast Resistant Door and Window
