The Director, Compensation & Benefits is a strategic leader responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing the company’s global compensation and benefits programs to attract, retain, and motivate top talent. This role partners closely with HR leadership, Finance, and business leaders to ensure all programs are competitive, cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with the organization’s total rewards philosophy.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead the design, implementation, and governance of the company’s compensation programs, including base salary structures, incentive plans, allowance plans, and recognition initiatives.Manage annual compensation processes (merit, bonus, salary structure reviews), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong partnership with HRBPs and business leaders.Conduct regular market benchmarking and pay analyses to ensure competitive positioning.Leads the evaluation and alignment of individual positions and job levels within our job architecture to ensure alignment with career framework and compensation structure.Provide guidance and training to HR and leaders on compensation decisions, programs, offers, and internal equity.Develop and manage the company’s benefits strategy, including health & welfare, retirement, wellbeing, leave programs, and ancillary benefits.Lead annual benefits renewals, vendor relationships, and plan design evaluation with a focus on cost management and employee experience.Partner with brokers, vendors, and carriers to ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance.Oversee administration and continuous improvement of benefit programs across regions.Establishes and manages compensation and benefits related budgets, provides forecasts and actuals, prepares accruals, and provides audit support as needed.Ensure all compensation and benefits programs comply with applicable federal, state, and global regulations.Maintain strong governance practices, documentation, and policy management.Coordinate audits, filings, and compliance updates as required (e.g., ACA, ERISA, FLSA, pay transparency laws).Use data and analytics to evaluate program effectiveness, support budgeting, and inform strategic decisions.Provide executive-level reporting and insights on compensation and benefits trends and program performance.Oversee compensation and benefits modules in Workday to ensure data accuracy, process efficiency, and continuous improvement.Lead M&A due diligence for Compensation & Benefits.Develop M&A integration strategy and execute harmonization efforts between companies and entities.
Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.12+ years experience in compensation and/or benefits, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.Strong knowledge of compensation principles, market analysis, job evaluation, and benefits regulations.Experience leading annual compensation cycles and benefits renewals in a global company.M&A experience is required.Workday experience strongly preferred.Strong business acumen required to develop and adhere to global Total Rewards budget.Strategic thinker with the ability to design scalable solutions.Strong operational discipline and attention to detail.Ability to balance employee experience with fiscal responsibility.Collaborative leader who builds trust and drives alignment across teams.Advanced analytical skills, the ability to interpret complex data and recommend data driven actions.Ability to demonstrate creative problem-solving skills and drive delivery & execution.Excellent communication (verbal & written), problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.Ability to interact with and influence all levels of management and cross-functional teams using good judgement.Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
