Director, Enterprise Procurement
Job Overview
The Director of Enterprise Procurement will lead BusPatrol’s strategic sourcing and procurement operations across all business units, with a primary focus on direct procurement, hardware manufacturing, and global supply chain management.
This role is responsible for defining and executing the organization’s global procurement strategy across hardware, contract manufacturing, software, cloud services, telecom/IoT, and technology vendors.
The Director of Enterprise Procurement will own sourcing strategy, vendor and contract management, supply chain continuity, and cost optimization, while ensuring manufacturing quality, scalability, risk mitigation, and compliance across a global supplier ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise procurement Strategy
Build and lead the Enterprise Procurement function and scale operation using industry best practice.
Define and execute a procurement strategy that supports BusPatrol’s hardware-enabled platform model, balancing cost, quality, supply continuity, and speed to market.
Drive cost optimization, value creation and risk reduction at scale.
Establish procurement KPIs and benchmarks to drive efficiency and cost savings
Develop, implement, and communicate procurement policies, governance, and operating procedures.
Partner closely with Finance to define priorities and implement systems and processes that support forecasting, budgeting, and spend management.
Contract, Sourcing & Supply Chain Management
Own end-to-end sourcing and supplier management for direct procurement, including contract manufacturers, OEMs, ODMs, distributors, VARs, and logistics partners.
Oversee the full contract lifecycle for enterprise vendors, including hardware supply agreements, manufacturing contracts, SaaS agreements, cloud services, telecom/IoT, and service renewals.
Ensure renewals and terminations are proactively managed with sufficient lead times for negotiation.
Partner closely with Legal on commercial terms, compliance, intellectual property protections, and supply chain risk management.
Cost Optimization & Commercial Negotiation
Lead complex negotiations, RFPs, and supplier engagements across hardware manufacturing, OEM/ODM partners, logistics providers, SaaS, cloud, and telecom/IoT vendors.
Drive measurable savings while securing favorable commercial terms through benchmarking, market intelligence, and best-in-class procurement practices.
Partner with business leaders and Finance to identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve margins, avoid supply disruption, and maximize vendor value over the full lifecycle.
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to align vendor sourcing with
Ensure procurement is engaged early to guide vendor selection, manufacturing strategy, negotiations, and commercial terms.
Drive adoption of procurement best practices while enabling departments to achieve operational and strategic goals.
Team Leadership & Department Building
Hire, manage, and develop the initial procurement team member (sourcing manager), establishing strong foundations for the function as it scales.
Lead with strong executive presence and influence, serving as a trusted partner to senior leaders while maintaining a hands-on, player-coach mindset during the early build and growth phase.
Qualifications
10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 3–5 years in a management or Director level role
Significant experience in direct procurement, hardware supply chain management, and global manufacturing, including managing overseas production partners.
Strong track record negotiating hardware manufacturing agreements, as well as SaaS, cloud, and telecom/IoT contracts.
Deep experience sourcing and managing hardware and software vendors a scale
Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
Executive presence and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Experience inside a SaaS, cloud, or telecom provider in pricing, finance, or procurement a plus.

Expectations
Location: Austin, TX (hybrid, in-person)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours (aligned to CST/EST)
Travel: As needed for leadership meetings, vendor meetings, contract negotiations, and strategic sourcing initiatives

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Operations, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
Experience:10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 3–5 years in a management or Director level role
