Engagement Overview
We’re looking for a seasoned social and content strategist to step into a Director-level contract role at an integrated public affairs and marketing agency. This isn’t just a social media management role — it’s a leadership position that combines big-picture strategy, hands-on content development, executive ghostwriting, and crisis management. You understand how to shape narratives, protect reputations, and build engaged audiences across platforms. And you know how to do it with speed, precision, and calm — especially when things move fast.

Duration: 3 Months
Hours/Week: Full-Time (40 hrs) or Part-Time (20 hrs)

What You’ll Own
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and execute social and content strategies aligned with the agency’s client mission, reputation priorities, and audience needs.
- Lead always-on campaigns across key platforms: LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X/Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and Snap.
- Design strategic growth plans and KPIs, leveraging audience insights and analytics to continuously refine approach.
Content Development & Campaigns
- Oversee content calendars, draft engaging and regulation-compliant copy, and ensure consistent voice and message discipline across channels.
- Deliver proactive and reactive messaging that shapes narratives around client work and priorities.
- Create thought leadership content and support executive visibility across channels.
Executive & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a strategic partner and ghostwriter for executives — posts, Q&As, replies, and public-facing content.
- Support visibility tied to events, media coverage, and key initiatives.
Rapid Response & Crisis Management
- Monitor real-time conversations to identify risks, misinformation, and reputational threats.
- Collaborate with communications, legal, and crisis teams to craft aligned, timely responses.
- Maintain and update a rapid-response playbook with clear protocols.
Team Leadership & Measurement
- Manage and mentor direct reports, ensuring best practices in publishing, moderation, and community engagement.
- Partner across teams and stakeholders to drive alignment and shared impact.
- Deliver performance reports and audience insights to inform ongoing strategy refinement.
Qualifications
What You Bring
- 8–10+ years of experience in digital marketing, social media strategy, and content creation.
- Background across both agency and corporate environments strongly preferred.
- Deep platform fluency: LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X/Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Snap.
- Exceptional writing skills — you can write in any executive’s voice, adapt to any audience, and do it quickly.
- Proven experience in rapid-response and crisis communications — you’ve been tested and stayed steady.
- Comfortable in a regulated or issue-sensitive environment where every word matters.
- Strong project and team management experience with multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Analytical mindset — you use data to validate instincts and refine strategy over time.
