The Role
This position leads the end-to-end development of satellite payload electrical hardware, including avionics and electrical power systems (EPS), spanning all phases from concept and design through testing, qualification, production, and operational support. As part of the space development team, you will work closely with multidisciplinary engineers and participate in integrated testing campaigns. Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of satellite avionics and electrical subsystems from concept through production and operations
Manage project schedules and deliverables to ensure on-time hardware delivery
Develop technical roadmaps and recommend future system and process improvements
Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety requirements, and mission objectives
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering workflows, collaboration, and communication
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer engineering, aerospace or a related engineering discipline
Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in electrical engineering with demonstrated progression in technical roles
Proven leadership in managing avionics projects within satellite development programs
Strong expertise in electronic principles and electrical systems, including power electronics, communication interfaces (such as RS-422), signal integrity, and grounding techniques
Proficiency with standard electronic laboratory instruments
Demonstrated proficiency in applying core electrical circuit design concepts with both discrete and integrated components to deliver production-ready solutions that fulfill specified requirements
U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Skills & Experience
Advanced knowledge of the space environment and the radiation tolerance required for designing electronics for orbital application long-term reliability in extreme conditions
Comprehensive experience across the complete electronic product development lifecycle, including schematic design, PCBA layout, circuit analysis, technical reviews, documentation management, procurement processes, design verification testing, qualification procedures and production
Proficiency with Atlassian Jira and Confluence
Experience working in a startup environment with direct founder involvement and exposure to fast-paced product development and cross-functional collaboration
