Profile Overview
Client is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Writer specializing in food and beverage compliance training. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of regulated training content, including Alcohol Seller/Server, Food Handler, Food Manager, and HACCP programs. This individual must understand regulatory documentation requirements and nuanced terminology, such as distinctions between “impairment” and “intoxication,” as they apply to alcohol service laws.
Scope
- Commitment: 30 hours per week for a month and half, but could expand based on needs
- Focus: Course revisions, regulatory updates, and compliance documentation
Responsibilities
- Revise and update existing regulated training courses for:
- Alcohol Seller/Server
- Food Handler
- Food Manager
- HACCP
- Ensure all course content aligns with current state and federal regulations.
- Update and document food handler and alcohol laws within course materials.
- Incorporate precise regulatory language and clarify nuanced legal distinctions (e.g., impairment vs. intoxication).
- Maintain instructional clarity while ensuring legal and compliance accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to validate accuracy and completeness.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience developing or revising regulated food and beverage training courses.
- Strong knowledge of: Alcohol Seller/Server laws, Food safety regulations, Food Manager certification requirements, and HACCP standards
- Ability to interpret and document regulatory language accurately.
- Familiarity with compliance-driven instructional design.
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in legal and regulatory nuance.
- Experience working as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in food and beverage compliance preferred.
