Our client, Medine Distillery Co Ltd, is recruiting a General Manager.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Group CEO, the General Manager will be responsible for the overall operational, technical, commercial, and strategic leadership of the distillery. This role ensures efficient production, regulatory compliance, product quality, financial performance, and team development, while driving business growth both locally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Production Management
- Oversee the full operational management of the distillery.
- Manage procurement of raw materials and essential supplies.
- Develop and implement production plans, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize industrial performance and productivity.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards and product specifications.
Technical & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure all required licenses and permits are obtained and maintained in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Oversee maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
- Lead technical development projects and implement new production technologies.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Guarantee the safety and security of all installations and facilities.
Commercial & Business Development
- Develop and implement sales strategies to grow the distillery’s presence in local and export markets.
- Identify new business opportunities and partnerships to expand market share.
- Monitor market trends and adjust commercial strategies accordingly.
Financial & Administrative Management
- Ensure sound financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and profitability optimization.
- Oversee administrative operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Provide regular performance reporting to stakeholders.
Leadership & Human Resources
- Define and implement the appropriate organizational structure.
- Recruit, train, and develop high-performing teams.
- Foster a collaborative, motivated, and performance-driven work environment.
- Promote strong team spirit and staff engagement.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- An MBA is an advantage.
- Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment (experience within the distillery or beverage sector would be an advantage).
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Solid understanding of industrial processes, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and financial management capabilities.
