Position Summary
We are seeking a Machine Operator – Converting (Spanish-speaking), who is responsible for the setup, operation, and cleanup of converting equipment to produce finished goods that meet quality and production standards. This role supports daily production targets while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality requirements.
We work 12-hour shifts (either days or nights, No rotating) on a 2-2-3 schedule, which gives every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate converting machines according to job specifications and production schedulesMonitor product quality throughout runs and make real-time adjustments to maintain compliance with standardsOptimize machine performance to achieve targeted output and minimize downtimeAccurately document production data, quality checks, safety observations, and machine operational statusCoordinate with helpers to ensure smooth material flow and efficient machine changeoversCross-train on additional converting equipment to increase team capability and coverageSubmit maintenance requests and communicate equipment concerns promptly to supervisionFollow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and housekeeping requirementsAssist in training and guiding team members to ensure consistent operational practices
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.Minimum 6 months of experience in a manufacturing or production environmentSpanish-speaking required to effectively communicate with team members and support operational coordination on the production floorAbility to read and interpret production documents and work instructionsProficiency in reading a tape measure and performing basic mathematical calculations, including percentages and measurementsDemonstrated ability to follow structured processes and resolve routine production issues
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating converting or packaging machineryPrior experience serving as a machine helper or in a similar support roleForklift certification or ability to obtain lift truck operator license
