We are looking for our future Manufacturing System Engineer to join our Manufacturing System team based at our gigafactory in Dunkirk, France.
As such, you structure and maintain the technical production system (standards, documentation, routines, and digital tools) for one or more manufacturing processes. You act as the architect of the system, ensuring alignment between official documentation and shop floor practices, in close collaboration with process, production, supply chain, quality, and digital teams. You contribute to breaking silos, ensure data validation, and act as a coordinator for continuous improvement and audit readiness.
Main responsibilities:
1. Technical System Design & Documentation Ownership:Define and maintain process sheets (critical parameters, sequences, control points).Develop and update standard operating procedures (start-up, restart, change management).Own and coordinate key process documentation: control plans, PFMEA, work instructions, and other APQP deliverablesConduct Gemba walks to collect feedback and align documentation with field reality, enhance the shop floor initiatives, and support them and understand the key users’ needsMake a new company standard linking all APUs, from shopfloor initiatives when relevant.Build and maintain a technical incident database with validated solutionsLead or support continuous improvement projects within the manufacturing perimeter: change management, important improvementsSupport the creation of QIP reports before handing over to APUs, and ensure consistency from every APUs and site.2. Digital Tools & System Integration (BPO Key Users):Translate system needs into functional specifications for MES, digital dashboards, etc.Participate in testing and validation of digital tools before deploymentEnsure consistency between digital data structures, process standards, and documentationCollaborate with IT to optimize MES integration and ensure connection with PLM.Review and update BOMs, monitor scrap costs, and support data reliability.3. Next Project deployment:Create a REX database which can be used for next projectsParticipate in industrial design phases to integrate system requirements from the outsetCoordinate knowledge transfer activities between sites (lessons learned and best practices).
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.Previous experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or a related field (entry-level acceptable with relevant internships or co-op).Exposure to process improvement, industrialization, or production support during studies or early career.Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.Effective communication skills to work with operators, technicians, and cross-functional teams.Ability to work in a team-oriented and fast-paced manufacturing environment.Willingness to learn, adapt, and engage in continuous improvement.
