We’re seeking an experienced Mason to complete targeted masonry repairs on two training structures (Burn Building and Arson Training Building). Work is limited to masonry repair activities, including crack repair, spall patching, and mortar repointing, with a strong focus on quality and durability.
CMU Walls
Route and seal minor cracks in CMU walls and mortar joints using appropriate sealant
Patch minor spalls and small holes on interior/exterior surfaces
Precast Concrete Lintels & Sills
Repair minor cracks in precast lintels and sills at window and door openings
Exterior Concrete Stoops/Steps
Patch spalls at designated locations using high-strength repair material
Remove corrosion and apply galvanizing repair paint to posts prior to patching
Repair or replace broken nosing on stair treads
Anchors
Repair or replace loose door/window anchors set in concrete
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as a mason (masonry repair focus strongly preferred)
Demonstrated knowledge of masonry repair methods (crack sealing, spall repair, repointing)
Experience working with CMU, concrete, mortar, and related repair materials
Ability to read and interpret engineering reports
Ability to work independently, manage time, and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
Physically able to perform labor-intensive work including lifting, climbing, and working at heights
Must supply own tools (expendable materials will be provided)
