Respiratory Therapist – 12-Hour Nights

Cedar Park Med is hiring a Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week assignment with possible extension. This role is ideal for an experienced RT who is confident working in an acute care setting, providing respiratory treatments, supporting ventilated patients, and responding to critical patient needs with minimal orientation and supervision. Pediatric experience is preferred.

Shift / Schedule

• Night shift
• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 12-hour shifts
• 13-week assignment with possible extension
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required based on weekend schedule

Position Overview
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide respiratory care and treatment to patients in an acute care setting, including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, ventilation support, and emergency cardiopulmonary care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to work independently, and excellent communication in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapy to patients

• Institute and monitor oxygen therapy

• Assist physicians in instituting and maintaining continuous ventilation

• Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed

• Perform pulmonary function tests

• Perform radial arterial punctures

• Provide respiratory care in the acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision

• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, patients, and the care team

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy

• New York State license/registration as a Respiratory Therapist

• Minimum 2 years of post-degree clinical acute care experience required

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric experience preferred

• Candidates outside a 100-mile radius preferred
