Float is on a mission to simplify finance for Canadian businesses, empowering them to eliminate complexity and unlock new opportunities. Through our innovative platform, Float enables businesses to streamline financial operations and optimize cash flow, so they can focus on what matters most: growth.
As one of Canada’s fastest growing companies and top-rated startups in 2024 and 2023, Float is customer-obsessed, passionate and entrepreneurial, with a team that includes leaders from Uber, Shopify, Top Hat, TouchBistro, Bill, Stripe, and Ada.
At Float, everyone is an owner, bringing their unique perspective to our team and product. Your voice is important, and we take having a culture based on feedback seriously. We openly share our thoughts and differing opinions so we can continue to improve. We do our best to keep our decision-making decentralized so that all team members feel ownership in our success.
Float is Canada's complete business finance platform, combining modern financial services and software to help businesses spend, save, and grow. Trusted by 5000+ Canadian companies, Float provides high-limit corporate cards, automated expense management, next-day bill payments, high-yield accounts and fast, friendly support—all built in Canada, for Canada. Our team is a collection of ambitious, collaborative and mission-driven people from all walks of life but with one goal: helping Canadian companies not just survive but thrive. And we’re looking for bold innovators to help shape the future of business finance in Canada.
We use technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), to support parts of our hiring process. This may include AI-assisted scheduling and candidate communications, and AI-generated interview notes, guides or summaries to help our team focus on the conversation. All hiring decisions are made by our hiring team.
We’re looking for an outstanding Product Operations Manager to help Float’s Product org operate with clarity, consistency, and speed. We have five product teams, and Product Ops is the connective tissue that keeps team rituals, roadmap hygiene, initiative tracking, and performance reporting running smoothly and in a consistent format across the org.
This role also supports product decision-making by building systems to gather customer signals (surveys/NPS, sales feedback, support insights), turning them into actionable insights, and helping PMs prioritize what to build next. You’ll partner closely with the Growth product team on cross-functional initiatives—launching campaigns, improving onboarding, and measuring promos—using strong analytics and experimentation discipline.
This role is intentionally scoped for a high-slope operator: highly coachable, adaptable, and comfortable learning tools on the fly (including AI).
Run Product operating rhythms: team rituals, cadences, MBR inputs, roadmap hygiene, and initiative tracking across product teams.
Own monthly Product performance reporting and MBR preparation, including narrative, insights, and executive-ready materials (memos and decks).
Build and maintain consistent, trusted sources of truth for product initiatives, milestones, and outcomes across teams.
Create systems and processes to capture customer signals (surveys/NPS, support tickets, sales feedback), synthesize themes, and translate them into prioritization inputs for PMs.
Partner deeply with Growth product to support cross-functional initiatives (Product, Risk, Support, PMM, Lifecycle Marketing) including campaign launches, onboarding improvements, and promo strategy.
Design and analyze experiments with clear success metrics and guardrails; move fast while explicitly managing risk in a fintech context.
Use SQL, dashboards, and AI tools to automate reporting workflows, speed up analysis, and increase insight velocity.
Proactively identify operational gaps, risks, and misalignment; propose solutions with clear trade-offs and next steps.
Customer feedback signals are centralized, regularly synthesized, and visibly influencing product prioritization.
Growth initiatives ship with clear measurement plans (success + guardrails), and post-launch learning is captured and reused.
Meaningful portion of manual reporting is automated via SQL + dashboards + AI-assisted workflows.
Stakeholders describe Product Ops as “the person who creates clarity and momentum” across cross-functional work.
You Put Customers First, Always. You anchor operational decisions in customer outcomes and real-world behaviour, not wishful thinking.
You Act Like an Owner. You take end-to-end responsibility, escalate risks early with options, and drive to outcomes.
You Think Big and Move Fast. You’re comfortable building systems from scratch, iterating quickly, and learning as you go.
You Constantly Learn and Grow. You’re highly coachable, adaptable, and excited to evolve how you work, especially with AI.
You Raise the Bar. You care about quality, consistency, and clarity, and you improve how teams operate.
You Win as a Team. You bring people together, handle opinionated stakeholders well, and create alignment across functions.
Have 3–6 years experience in strategy & ops, product ops, growth ops, consulting, or similar roles in high-growth environments.
Are deeply data-fluent: advanced SQL (required) and strong Excel/Sheets modeling.
Are comfortable with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and strong reporting hygiene.
Can lead cross-functional initiatives and communicate crisply through memos and decks.
Have an experimentation mindset: you define success metrics, guardrails, and learnings, then scale what works.
Are AI-forward: you actively use AI tools to speed up analysis, automate workflows, and synthesize feedback, while validating outputs.
You’re not comfortable being hands-on with data (SQL) or owning reporting end-to-end.
You prefer senior-level autonomy without coaching or feedback.
You move fast without defining guardrails, risks, and stop conditions.
You struggle to translate messy customer signals into practical, prioritized actions.
