1. Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labor force and the work of any subcontractors of assigned construction projects
2. Provide technical advice on construction sites for subcontractors, technicians and lower-level workers.
3. Ensuring that health and safety environment policies are strictly adhered to on site.
4. Ensuring equipment and procedures comply with safety regulations.
5. Maintain and interpret site drawings, topographical drawings, construction drawings, rebar drawing and rebar schedules.
6. Ensure works are carried out as per the contract drawings and specifications.
7. Maintain records, site diary, quality assurance documentation, site instructions, as-built drawings and shop drawings.
8. Prepare status, risk, resources/materials report as required
9. Ensure timelines and project specifications are met.
10. Liaising with other engineers, surveyors, site admin, foreman and sub-contractors.
11. Interpreting drawings and guiding artisans to achieve a set goal.
12. Checking plans, quantities and drawings to ensure accuracy
13. Resolving any technical queries and other problems that may crop up.
14. Supervise surveyors and interpret surveying data.
15. Set out, level and survey the site.
16. Check plans, review drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
17. Ensure that all materials used, and work performed are in accordance with the specifications
18. Manage, monitor and interpret the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect.
19. Liaise with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws
20. Communicate with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress of work.
Qualifications
· 8 years of active work experience in a reputable organization
- · First degree in civil engineering from an accredited university
- · Professional Membership in the Engineering field is desirable (COREN, NSE)
