Project Engineer - Fixed Term Contract (till December 2028)

With the ongoing expansion of the infrastructure programme, we are looking for a Project Engineer to be part of our team handling Project Development, Interface Management, and Construction Logistics. This role is a Fixed Term Contract till December 2028.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure Operational interfaces, the Project Engineer supports the Senior Interface Manager and the Construction Logistics Senior Manager in their day-to-day activities.
Some of your key responsibilities will be:
- Monitoring daily site activities
- Overseeing and coordinating the work of contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure compliance with client requirements.
- Assisting in Permit to Work applications.
- Coordinating interfaces between contractors, operations and stakeholders as required.
- Updating and maintaining interface, risk and opportunity registers.
- Contributing to the ongoing monitoring and management of safety, health, wellbeing, and environmental matters with the AKL HSW and Environmental teams.
- Contributing to the reporting of progress, achievements, and key risks and opportunities.
- Demonstrating Auckland Airport’s commitment to a “people first” approach in health, safety, and wellbeing.
What you’ll bring to the role

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Construction.
- 3-5 years’ experience in site-based construction roles.
- Varied project experience within vertical and horizontal construction.
- Leadership skills with the ability to influence, combined with the ability to build strong networks with key stakeholders
- Proactive in finding and implementing practical solutions to technical problems.
