General Characteristics (Job Summary)
- Perform quality activities in accordance with quality management system established.
- Establish inspection and test plans and its record forms as per project requirements and international codes and standards.
- Carry out inspections on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements, and recording its result.
- Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.
- Supervise, Inspect and support Construction to proceed related activities concerning the progress in accordance with project specification.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Managing and performing inspection of Civil discipline.
- Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) where required providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
- Prepare / Review the following Quality procedure documents submitted by the Subcontractors such are Inspection Test Plan (ITP), Material Approval Request (MAR).
- Prepare / Review / Approve the related inspection reports where inspection results are recorded- Controlling inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
- Setting and applying practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes (providing ITP and managing Matrix).
- Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and supporting to prepare Corrective Action Plan properly.
- Performing and coordinating inspection with client.
- Carry out QC Supervisor’s responsibility in their absence.
- Control quality violations through regular tool box talk with the construction team.
- Review and track material submittals required for Civil Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
- Conduct Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to Civil Definable Features of Work.
- Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals, conduct visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
- Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
- Ensure to apply lessons learnt and proper preventive action conducted.
- Monitor and inspect specific Civil related activities such as Compressive Strength Test, Soil Compaction, on site-off site laboratory test if required.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Minimum Education Level: Diploma in Civil engineering major.
- Certificate related to Civil discipline.
Experience
- From project start to completion
- Construction experience in an oil / gas / petrochemical / Building and Infra structure as QC Inspector / Supervisor
- Working experience in the Engineering and Construction Industries
- Having technical knowledge and familiar with related international codes and standards in particular discipline
- Able to check that suitable and appropriate inspection and test tools are used
- Investigating and analyzing nonconformities and observations and figuring out solutions
- Knowledgeable in field surveying and calculation
- Capability of planning and controlling inspections for medium scale project (0.5~1.5 billion dollar)
