Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department - Adult ED

Cedar Park Med is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Adult ED/ICU Holding Unit for an immediate 13-week assignment with possible extension. This role is ideal for an experienced acute care RN who is confident working with high-acuity adult patients in a fast-paced holding unit environment. Candidates must have ICU experience, and ED experience is preferred. Prior experience with EPIC and Level 1 or Level 2 trauma settings is strongly preferred.

Schedule / Shift

• Day shift

• 12-hour shifts
  

• 13 weeks assignment with possible extension

• Every other weekend and some holidays required required

Position Overview
As an RN in the Adult ED/ICU Holding Unit, you will provide direct patient care to adult patients requiring close monitoring and acute nursing support while awaiting transfer or continued treatment. This role requires strong assessment skills, the ability to care for high-acuity patients with minimal orientation, and confidence working in a fast-paced hospital environment with changing patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Adult ED/ICU Holding Unit with minimal orientation and supervision

• Perform nursing assessments and monitor patients for changes in condition

• Deliver care in an acute care specialty setting with strong clinical judgment and prioritization

• Support high-acuity adult patients requiring ICU-level observation and intervention

• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care and throughput

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC

• Deliver safe, high-quality care while following hospital policies, procedures, and patient safety standards

Required Qualifications

• Current New York State RN Registration

• Current BLS certification or ability to be recertified

• Minimum 1.5 years of recent RN experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care facility of similar size and level as the hospital

• ICU experience required

• Previous EPIC Electronic Medical Records experience

• Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience
