We are seeking to hire Senior Counsel to serve as the day-to-day internal legal leader for our commercial work and people-related legal risk. This is a hands-on, execution-first role for someone who thrives in high-velocity environments, makes clear judgments quickly, and helps the business move forward with confidence.
This role combines two equally important missions: enabling revenue and deal velocity through practical commercial legal support, and supporting leadership and HR on people matters with clarity, fairness, and defensible process.
The right person will take ownership, simplify complexity, and operate as a trusted partner to leaders across the company. You will not be writing long memos. You will be diagnosing risk, proposing a practical path forward, and closing.
What you’ll do:
Commercial Legal Leadership
Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize commercial contracts, including agency agreements, advertiser terms, MSAs, amendments, and property/building agreements.
Develop and refine templates and playbooks that enable deal velocity while keeping legal risk manageable.
Review and negotiate insurance, indemnification, and risk allocation provisions in building agreements to ensure alignment with company coverage.
Coordinate with Ops and insurance brokers to confirm coverage requirements and related documentation as needed.
Provide real-time, practical legal guidance on commercial opportunities and obligations.
Approve standard commercial agreements without routine escalation.
People & HR Legal Support
Partner with HR and leadership on employment-related matters, policy development, and compliance.
Provide guidance on performance management, documentation practices, and employment decisions.
Support consistent, thoughtful handling of employee lifecycle matters in alignment with company values and applicable law.
Help build scalable HR processes that support a high-performance, fast-moving culture.
Execution Expectations
Deliver same-day or rapid turnaround legal support — not memo after memo.
Be a true internal partner: diagnose risk, propose a defensible path forward, and get it done.
Operate comfortably in an environment with high deal flow, imperfect inputs, and shifting priorities.
Who you are:
A lawyer with 7–10+ years’ experience in commercial and HR-related legal work.
Someone who has been in the first or second in-house counsel seat at a high-growth startup.
A practitioner with real contract negotiation experience and direct employment law execution.
Experience reviewing and negotiating insurance and indemnity structures in commercial or property-related agreements.
A communicator who can work with business leaders, HR, Finance, insurance brokers, and external partners with clarity and confidence.
A builder who prefers execution over escalation and internal problem solving over outsourcing to outside firms.
Professionally proficient in English and Mandarin Chinese (written and verbal), with the ability to negotiate contracts, review legal documents, and communicate complex legal concepts fluently in both languages.
Comfortable operating in a cross-border business environment, including coordination with Asia-based stakeholders and U.S. commercial partners.

The pay range for this position is $150,000-$175,000 + bonus; however, the base pay may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience.
