Senior Pipeline Engineer
General Characteristics (Job Summary)
- Responsible for providing expertise and ensuring the application of correct standards in all FEED & EPC deliverables in the design and development of projects associated with Oil and Gas processing, production, export, storage and required utilities.
- Establish the actual capacities/capabilities of existing field facilities and pipelines to identify potential bottlenecks and scope for optimization.
- Ensures that work under their control is performed in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
Roles and Responsibilities

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant engineering from an accredited university.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the offshore/onshore Oil and Gas / Petrochemical and Marine industry.
- Must have at least five years of experience in a similar position for international major Oil and Gas / Petrochemical / Marine projects including a minimum of three years in EPC organization.
- Experience of working in a variety of projects and phases, including greenfield and brownfield, on and offshore, Pre-FEED through to EPC.
- Construction and site experience is desirable.
- Ideally has experience with Qatar O&G customer design standards including Shell DEPs.
- Experience with management of vendors, able to complete Technical Bid Evaluations and oversee development of vendor scope.
- Experience in preparation of Pipeline Design documents (design basis, mechanical design report, stress analysis, LLI’s material specifications & requisitions, MTO, detailed engineering drawings etc.) independently and complete the design activities within specified schedule & budget.
Technical Skills / Competencies
- Experience in using ASME, API, ISO, DNV, and Shell DEP codes and standards in pipeline design and construction.
- Experience in the use of pipeline software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Mathcad, CAESAR II, ESRI/GIS) is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.
- Know the environmental aspects (ISO14001) of oil and gas project design.
- Be familiar with working with construction engineers and installation schemes.
- Capable of executing multiple tasks and delivering it efficiently within specified schedule. Self-motivated, shall work independently and/or with engineers & designers for the project with effective communication with Project Managers/PEMs and Discipline Manager.
- To have a pro-active approach and should be able to guide Engineers & Designers on technical and non-technical issues towards effective solutions.
