The Student Summer Internship at LCBC Church is designed to equip and develop the leadership skills of upcoming or graduating high school seniors. This hands-on experience provides engagement in a variety of ministry opportunities both in and beyond the weekend, helping students build a strong foundation in life and leadership while actively contributing to LCBC's mission.
We're looking for incoming or graduating high school seniors who are actively connected to LCBC's ministry, already serving at our church, and demonstrating evidence of spiritual growth and surrender. Ideal candidates have leadership potential, a desire to grow, and the ability to follow through on direction. This internship is designed to engage students in what ministry is like beyond the weekend, equipping them to lead while investing in the next generation.
The Student Summer Internship begins the week of June 17 and concludes on August 7.
Weekly Format
June 18-19th – Central Internship Retreat:Two-day retreat at LCBC ManheimHousing will be providedWednesdays - On the Local LCBC Campus:Ministry leader trains on the specific area of focusThursdays - At the Central Office in Manheim:The Rooted Experience: helps churches build an Acts 2 discipleship culture for students which connects people with God, the church, and their purpose.Ministry Area Overviews and Focus:Challenge and discussion around key topics Engage with seasoned leaders about their ministry calling and passionSaturdays/Sundays/Mondays - Serving with your Local LCBC Campus:Area-specific for an additional gathering preparation/skill work through the weekRooted Bible Study + Communicating for Change (approx. 10-15 minutes of reading each day)Additional events:Wildfire Middle School Camp (July 30 – August 2) and High School Camp (July 5-8)Global Leadership Summit (August 6-7)

What if I have a vacation planned-can I miss a week? Investing in your family is important! However, if you'll need to miss more than one week, this internship may not be the best fit.Is this a paid internship or volunteer-based? Volunteer-basedWhat should I bring with me each day? Pen, notebook, other assigned materialsIs there a dress code? Choose clothing that is comfortable, clean, appropriate under stage lighting, free of large logos or distracting/inappropriate graphics, and allows you to move freely while leading others.Will transportation be provided for Central days? Carpools may be available, depending on location.What is "Communicating for Change," and why is it part of the internship? Even if you're not speaking from a stage, strong communication is key-whether through email, phone, or VIP time. This resource helps you inspire action through your words.Will I be expected to share personal stories or testimonies? Yes! Sharing your faith helps you grow. You'll have opportunities to share your story and prepare you to teach at HSM by the end of the internship.What if I don't feel comfortable serving in a particular area? Interns are expected to attend Wildfire, LCBC's Middle School Camp July 30-August 2) either as a Group Leader, assisting with check-in and arrival, or serving on the Guest Experience team.What is GLS, and why are we attending?
