Evaluate and counsel individuals who have disabilities or limitations in order to provide vocational rehabilitation services
Records review and interviewing individuals
Conferring with medical, professional, and educational personnel to determine the type and degree of disability or limitation
Determine eligibility for services and feasibility of vocational rehabilitation
Identifying suitable jobs and/or classes of jobs consistent with the individuals aptitudes, physical, mental, and emotional abilities
Assist individuals regarding the appropriate areas of study or in obtaining the proper training or education for a position
Consult with attorneys, employers, and insurance company representatives regarding the services provided
Assist in preparing vocational assessment reports, life-care plans, including market, education, and life-care plan research
Testify at depositions or in mediation, hearings, and trials as an expert witness
Conform to all billing guidelines and achieves billing goals
Performs marketing and sales activities, including cold calling and networking events
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required, Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling preferred (or related field)
National certification of Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) strongly preferred.
Advanced ability to analyze and make sound judgments and to accurately document activities
Advanced oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with claimants, medical professionals, employers, claims staff and others
Excellent negotiation skills to effectively establish target return to work dates
Advanced knowledge of state, local and federal laws related to vocational rehab
1-3 years of work experience in vocational rehabilitation or related field
Proficient computer skills include MS Office Suite & Internet Research
