Title: Applications Engineer - Switchgear

We are currently looking for a Switchgear Sales Engineer who excels in both technical expertise and commercial execution.
Position Overview
The Switchgear Sales Engineer is responsible for developing both technical solutions and commercial proposals for low-voltage switchgear and power distribution systems. This role involves creating elevations, reviewing and interpreting one-line diagrams, specifying breakers and control components, and supporting quoting activities with accuracy and efficiency.
This is a customer-facing position that requires excellent communication skills, strong business awareness, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and project management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Review customer specifications, one-line diagrams, and related project documentation
Develop switchgear elevations and layout drawings for proposals and submittals
Support and manage quoting opportunities
Size and specify key electrical components
Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates and quotations
Work closely with internal engineering teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability
Participate in customer discussions to clarify scope, address technical questions, and confirm requirements
Contribute to value engineering initiatives to improve cost efficiency and system performance
Maintain responsiveness and a sense of urgency in a fast-paced quoting environment
Travel occasionally for customer meetings, project reviews, and strategic discussions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
3–8+ years of experience in low-voltage switchgear, power distribution, or similar electrical infrastructure
Strong ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams and electrical schematics
Experience specifying breakers (e.g., ABB, Schneider, Eaton, Siemens) and control systems
Familiarity with UL standards and data center applications is preferred
Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance technical precision and competitiveness
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
