Job Title: CNC Machine Operator
Location: Newport News, VA
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $18 – $24/hour (based on experience and interview evaluation)
Shift Availability
1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday–Friday)
3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Sunday–Thursday)
Job Responsibilities:
Operate CNC machinery to bend sheet metal components
Use CNC equipment to install hardware into sheet metal parts
Assemble metal components using spot welding equipment
Set up, clean, and maintain tools and machinery
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet dimensional specifications
Maximize productivity by working efficiently to meet production goals
Handle materials using a forklift, pallet jack, or manually
Count, organize, and stack completed parts
Remove burrs and smooth edges on finished products
Continuously monitor product quality during production runs
Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues as needed
Complete additional duties as assigned
Follow all company safety policies and operational procedures
Basic Requirements
Applicants must:
Be comfortable using computers to operate machinery
Demonstrate strong attendance and reliability
Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members
Be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs
Follow both written and verbal instructions accurately
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
Previous experience setting up and operating CNC equipment
Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints
Experience using calipers and other precision measuring instruments
