NZ Herefords is the national breed organisation representing Hereford breeders across New Zealand. Member-led and sector connected, NZ Herefords plays a key role in supporting breeders, maintaining breed integrity, and promoting Hereford genetics across the beef industry.
We’re looking for a General Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of the organisation and work closely with the Board to give effect to its strategy.
This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone who enjoys getting things done. You’ll be responsible for keeping the organisation running well, from governance support and financial oversight, through to events, communications, member relationships and industry engagement.
You’ll be comfortable working with a Board, managing priorities, and dealing with a wide range of people across the sector. You don’t need to lead a large team, but you do need sound judgement, strong communication skills, and credibility in agriculture or a related industry.
This role would suit someone with experience in an industry body, breed society, agribusiness or member-based organisation who enjoys autonomy, variety and genuine sector connection.
Occasional domestic travel is required. There may be opportunities for international travel, including attendance at the 2028 World Hereford Conference in the UK.
