Country Controller

We are now looking for a Country Controller to join our team in Whanganui - someone who can navigate the complexity of a global business while keeping a steady hand on the day-to-day financial mechanics.
The Role
Managing a small finance and admin team and reporting to the MD, you will be the person who owns the reporting processes, making sure the numbers are accurate, on time and meaningful, and who works with the MD to understand the story behind the numbers. You’ll take the lead on month-end, reporting, planning, credit risk and internal controls, whilst also providing practical, grounded financial insight that supports good decision making across the business.
This is a hands-on, high-impact position where you won’t get lost in a big corporate structure or buried in bureaucracy. You’ll have real visibility, genuine influence, and the space to do things properly. You’ll work closely with a supportive MD, acting as a strategic partner who will truly learn the business from the ground up and help us drive it forward, engaging with all aspects including Sales, Operations, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
About You
We are looking for someone who "gets" business, not just balance sheets. You might be an experienced Financial Controller or a CFO from a smaller company who wants the backing of a global leader without losing that hands-on, small-business connection.
You’ll likely be a CA or CPA qualified professional – you see the big picture. You have solid experience with ERP systems and are someone who builds genuine relationships and can explain the "why" behind the numbers to people at every level of the business.
