We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the central Maintenance Department and ensure the reliability, integrity, and safe performance of our production assets. Based in Port‑Gentil, this role drives the implementation of world‑class maintenance strategy, supports daily operations across all sites, and oversees maintenance engineering, methods, planning, and business support activities to sustain production and extend the life of ageing facilities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the application of Assala’s HSSE standards and compliance with local regulations and international industrial norms.
- Define, implement, and monitor the maintenance strategy, processes, and procedures, ensuring alignment with world‑class maintenance standards.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary maintenance teams (Electrical, Mechanical, PACO/Automation/Metrology, Business Support/CMMS).
- Provide daily technical support to field operations, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, and engineering assessments for equipment failures.
- Manage maintenance OPEX and CAPEX budgets, including planning, tracking, and optimisation.
- Oversee the management of maintenance and service contracts for all disciplines.
- Contribute to spare parts management and optimisation through the SMOP programme.
- Develop, monitor, and update major maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance plans.
- Drive reliability improvement initiatives and set up maintenance performance and availability monitoring systems.
- Supervise engineering work and execution of retrofit and upgrade projects (e.g., IPS/DCS, turbomachinery system upgrades).
- Ensure the technical integrity of SCE and non‑SCE equipment and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Participate in multidisciplinary problem analysis, reliability studies, and continuous improvement processes.
- Support operational emergencies by providing on‑call troubleshooting expertise.
- Ensure accurate reporting of maintenance activities and performance indicators.
- Develop and implement competency‑based training programmes for maintenance personnel, including certifications and technical upskilling.
Requirements
- Technical degree in Energy, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in rotating equipment or industrial maintenance, ideally within the oil and gas or extractives industry sector.
- Strong expertise in maintenance engineering principles, reliability methodologies, and CMMS systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary maintenance teams in a complex operational environment.
- Solid knowledge of ageing asset management, retrofit projects, and equipment integrity.
- Experience managing OPEX/CAPEX budgets and maintenance‑related service contracts.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to support emergency troubleshooting and operational decision‑making.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Operations, Projects, Procurement, HSE, Logistics and other key departments.
- Experience with SAP maintenance module is a plus
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
- Fluency in French (written and spoken); professional competence in English is preferred.
