We are seeking an experienced Completion & Well Intervention (CWI) Manager to lead and oversee all CWI activities across our operations in Gabon. Reporting to the Wells Manager, the role is responsible for planning, engineering, execution, and evaluation of well completion and intervention programs, ensuring alignment with technical standards and HSE policies.
The CWI Manager acts as a key technical authority, providing guidance to superintendents and engineers, and representing the Wells department in cross-functional planning and execution.
Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Plan, engineer, and execute well completions, workovers, and interventions (slickline, stimulation, coil tubing).
- Technical Authority: Define completion methods, equipment selection, and well integrity barriers aligned with company standards.
- Budget & Resource Management: Control CWI budgets, optimize resource utilization, and manage contractors.
- HSSE Compliance: Enforce safety standards and good oilfield practices across all operations.
- Performance Optimization: Develop strategies, procedures, and KPIs to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent CWI in technical reviews, scheduling, and operational controls; provide expertise from completion through abandonment.
- Policy Development: Author and maintain company rules, practices, and standards for CWI operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in CWI operations, including 7+ years in supervisory roles.
- Proven track record in well design, workovers, and interventions.
- Expert knowledge of completions (lower/upper), artificial lift, well integrity, and HSSE standards.
- Proficiency in production optimization and nodal analysis.
- Familiarity with reservoir-to-wellbore interface, nodal analysis, and materials selection.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proven ability to manage contractors and cross-functional teams.
- Analytical mindset with commercial awareness.
- Fluent in English; French is an asset.
