Salary range: $135,000 - $150,000. Placement within the range is typically based upon a review of skills, experience, and internal equity.
Hours per week: 37.5

The Manager, Infrastructure Programs provides strategic leadership for the planning and delivery of SAIT’s infrastructure portfolio. Reporting to the Director, Projects & Continuous Improvement, this role translates institutional priorities into well‑sequenced programs spanning new construction, renovations, and space optimization. Working collaboratively across the institution, the Manager ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with strategic goals through strong governance, financial stewardship, and contractor oversight.
How you'll contribute
Lead Infrastructure Project DeliveryOversee the end‑to‑end delivery of infrastructure projects (excluding major capital), including new construction, renovations, capital renewals, and space optimizationEnsure projects meet approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectivesDefine and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets, including authorization of changes within delegated authorityEnsure smooth transition to operations, including documentation, warranties, and operational readinessMonitor risks, resolve issues proactively, and implement mitigation strategiesDrive Program and Project ExcellenceLead integrated planning across multiple concurrent projects, managing sequencing, dependencies, and institutional impactsEstablish and apply consistent program and project management practices, including governance, financial controls, risk management, and reportingTrack program performance using KPIs and dashboards, acting as an escalation point when projects fall out of alignmentEnsure alignment to approved business cases, benefits realization, and long‑term operational sustainmentContinuously improve delivery practices in collaboration with the Projects & Continuous Improvement leadership teamProvide Leadership & ManagementLead and oversee contracted partners, including general contractors, architects, engineers, designers, project managers, and skilled tradesSet clear performance expectations and take corrective action when outcomes are not achievedSupport day‑to‑day project delivery with hands‑on guidance and problem‑solvingBuild strong, collaborative relationships across the institution to understand operational needs and deliver effective solutionsEnsure Financial & Risk StewardshipManage project and program financials, including forecasting, tracking, and reportingSupport capital planning by identifying long‑term infrastructure needs and asset renewal opportunitiesPartner with Finance, Procurement, Contracts, and Insurance to manage costs, risks, and complianceEnsure all work meets legislated life‑safety requirements, regulatory standards, and Alberta Occupational Health & Safety legislation
What you bring
Minimum 7 years' experience in construction, construction design, or construction project management Must have 5 years' experience in a Supervisory roleBachelor's degree in construction project management, real estate, architecture, engineering, or a related field is requiredMaster's degree in construction project management real estate, architecture, engineering, or a related field is preferredProject Management Professional (PMP), Gold Seal Certification are required Program Management Professional (PgMP) and Facilities Management Professional would be considered an assetEquivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
