Reporting directly to the CEO/CCO, the Senior Business Developer will drive business growth across large corporates, SMEs, micro-businesses, and individual clients.
This strategic role combines sales leadership, partnership development, and go-to-market execution, with the objective of expanding the company’s footprint in Africa’s digital and financial ecosystem.
Main Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Execution
Develop and execute commercial plans by segment and geography.
Manage the complete sales cycle: prospecting, pipeline building, pitching, contract negotiation, and closing.
Deliver quarterly and annual sales targets.
Use CRM tools and dashboards to track KPIs (ARPU, CAC, churn, conversion).
Represent the company at industry events and roundtables.
2. Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Engagement
Lead high-level negotiations with banks, national switches (GIM-UEMOA, NIBSS, etc.), telcos, fintechs, and corporates.
Build mutually beneficial partnerships that generate new revenue streams.
Represent the company with regulators and ecosystem stakeholders.
3. Market & Product Development
Identify new market opportunities in payments and digital finance.
Collaborate with Product & Innovation teams to tailor solutions to client needs.
Conduct competitive and market analyses to refine commercial positioning.
4. Country Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy
Design and implement GTM strategies adapted to local contexts.
Define pricing models, distribution strategies, and growth levers.
Monitor performance through KPIs and ensure execution excellence.
5. Leadership & Team Development
Manage, coach, and inspire Business Development Managers and Sales Executives.
Create a performance-driven sales culture and share best practices across markets.
Align teams with global strategy and revenue goals.
Strong track record in B2B sales, partnership management, or business development.
Deep understanding of digital financial services (switches, remittances, merchant payments, etc.).
Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Analytical mindset; mastery of CRM and reporting tools.
Entrepreneurial spirit, resilience, and goal orientation.
Fluency in English (French is an advantage).
