We are hiring a Senior Staff Accountant based in Latam to support multiple U.S.-based clients with full-cycle accounting, month-end close, and high-quality financial reporting. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a consulting environment, brings structure to complex workflows, and takes ownership of clean, accurate books.
Own full month-end close for assigned clients
Prepare journal entries (accruals, deferrals, reclasses, payroll, intercompany)
Complete balance sheet reconciliations (cash, AR, AP, credit cards, loans, prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, deferred revenue)
Perform P&L reviews and variance analysis
Maintain standardized close checklists and workpapers
Review and post payroll entries (wages, benefits, employer taxes)
Reconcile payroll reports to the GL
Map GL accounts between payroll systems and QuickBooks
Apply basic sales and use tax principles for proper transaction coding
Coordinate with external payroll or sales tax providers as needed
Build and maintain structured A/P and A/R workflows
Review staff-level processing for accuracy and classification
Manage vendor and customer records, payment terms, and aging reports
Ensure processes align with internal controls and documentation standards
Support revenue recognition for service-based businesses
Reconcile unbilled revenue, WIP, and deferred revenue
Align project hours, fees, and change orders with accounting records
Prepare draft monthly and quarterly financial statements under U.S. GAAP
Complete budget-to-actual and period comparisons
Summarize key drivers and insights for internal leadership and clients
Act as day-to-day accounting contact for assigned clients
Communicate timelines, issues, and deliverables clearly
Provide guidance to junior accountants and review selected work
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
4–7 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, accrual accounting, payroll accounting, and core financial statements
Experience in multi-client or consulting environments preferred
Advanced QuickBooks Online (QBO ProAdvisor or willing to obtain within 90 days)
Experience with Bill.com, Gusto, ADP, or similar tools
Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills (Excel certification preferred)
Experience mapping GL accounts between payroll and accounting systems
Familiarity with sales tax concepts
Excellent English communication (C1/C2)
Technical excellence in accrual accounting and reconciliations
Strong process orientation across A/P and A/R
Ownership mindset with minimal supervision
Confidence in client-facing communication
High attention to detail and clean documentation
Collaborative and able to support junior staff
Intuit certification
Spreadsheet Sync experience
Experience with project-based or professional services businesses
