Senior Communications Officer and Senior Media Advisor
Our client URGENTLY requires a Senior Communications Officer and Senior Media Advisor for a 36 months + Contract in Buderim.
The Senior Communications Officer will lead compelling communications and stakeholder initiatives that drive understanding, inspire community confidence, and connect people to the exciting progress happening around them. You will drive the development, implementation, and management of strategic communication plans and campaigns for projects across the Sunshine Coast Region.
The Senior Media Advisor will play a pivotal role in managing media relations, developing proactive and reactive media strategies, and ensuring consistent and effective communication across all channels. You will bring your expertise in media management, social media strategy, and issues management to deliver high-quality outcomes that align with the program's objectives and the broader organisational goals.
Skills and Experience required includes:
Senior Communications Officer :
- Previous experience in communications, stakeholder and community engagement, or public relations, preferably in government or infrastructure, balancing community value with organisational priorities.
- An understanding of infrastructure, transport is a bonus and if you've told the success stories of big builds before, we want to hear from you!
- Proven ability to engage communities, build relationships with diverse stakeholders, and manage messaging with sensitivity, especially in high-profile or fast-paced environments
Senior Media Advisor :
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within government or on large infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of media and social media platforms, tools, and trends, with a proven track record of managing media relations and social media strategies.
- Experience in issues management, including risk identification, escalation, and mitigation.
Government experience would be highly advantageous.
