The Epic Optime / Anesthesia Analyst is responsible for the design, build, implementation, and support of the Epic Optime (Surgical Services) and Anesthesia modules. This role partners with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to optimize perioperative workflows, improve patient safety, and ensure system reliability.
Configure, build, test, and maintain Epic Optime and Anesthesia functionality
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and perioperative staff to gather requirements and improve workflows
Translate clinical and business needs into system design and technical solutions
Support surgical scheduling, case documentation, anesthesia records, and perioperative workflows
Troubleshoot system issues and provide ongoing production support
Lead or participate in upgrades, optimizations, and new feature implementations
Develop and execute test plans, including integrated and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Ensure data integrity, regulatory compliance, and adherence to best practices
Provide end-user support, training, and documentation
Participate in on-call rotation for application support
Experience supporting Epic Optime and/or Anesthesia modules
Epic certification(s) in:
Optime
Anesthesia (preferred or required depending on role)
Strong understanding of perioperative workflows and clinical processes
Experience with system configuration, testing, and issue resolution
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Experience in a hospital OR or anesthesia environment
Knowledge of surgical scheduling and case management workflows
Familiarity with Epic integrated applications (e.g., Prelude, Cadence, ClinDoc)
Experience with reporting tools (Reporting Workbench, Radar, or Clarity)
Prior involvement in Epic implementations or large-scale upgrades
Hourly range: $70-$80 per hour. The hourly range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs.
